World Chain provides humans with priority block space to support 13 million authenticated users

Openai CEO Sam Altman’s cryptocurrency identity project (formerly WorldCoin) has launched the Human Priority Regional Space (PBH) on its World Chain Mainnet.

The new infrastructure aims to prioritize transactions from proven human users, marking a shift in the traditional gasoline fee mechanism.

According to shared with the press release cryptopotatoPBH is automatically activated during network congestion and reserves parts specifically for each block of individual transactions from Orb validated.

The mechanism is designed to ensure faster and more reliable access to core services such as human verification, mini-apps and grant claims without additional costs.

According to the world, the program supports developers seeking to build a network of 13 million verified people. The launch is part of the project’s broader goal of creating a global network of more than one billion authenticated users.

Steven Smith, vice president of engineering and protocols, provided the tools for human tools, said that human priority block space effectively makes world chains “more fairer and more effective” by granting actual human transactions built into block production.

He continued:

“We firmly believe that humans and AI can coexist harmoniously, a development that reflects our commitment to building user-friendly systems that benefit humans, while also taking advantage of bleeding edge technologies.”

PBH was tested in a motivational testnet involving researchers and developers, including contributors to Flashbots and Alchemy. The system is open source and has been integrated into the World Chain Block Builder and Scrolling Boost, a modular component designed to support OP stack chains that support custom transaction sorting. Both PBH and Crolup Boost are subject to independent audits by blockchain infrastructure company Nethermind.

Regulatory barriers

The world officially launched in the United States in April, expanding to six major cities: Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville and San Francisco. After avoiding the U.S. rollout due to regulatory issues on token distribution, the world is now moving forward, which seems to be a more favorable regulatory climate.

Despite the expansion of the U.S., the project is still conducting a global review of its data collection practices. Authorities in several countries, including Spain and Portugal, have suspended the project due to privacy concerns related to the use of biometric data.
