A Rowville family that spent nearly a decade sold their dream home for $1.2 billion, with its price guide topped with over $100,000.

Suppliers Mary and Nick Nikos have $1 million to $1.1 million hopes for the renovated three-bedroom home, but throughout the event, a strong interest translates into fierce competition on auction day.

After the market announced the house to be $1.1 million, four bidders made a bid in increments of $10,000 and $4,000 before shrinking to the final $500 bid.

Corelogic Records shows that the couple bought 2 Moama Places for $630,000 in 2015 and highlighted home features and warm, timeless design.

Mary describes it as an open kitchen for “Family Heart,” a space once owned by over 40 people at family events.

The original kitchen before renovation has now become a warm open-plan artist center, described as the “heart of family.”

“We’ve made the baby a first step here, we’ve had huge gatherings full of memories,” she said.
