The White House told Hill’s sister news agency that the United States has issued nuclear advice to Iran.

“Trump has made it clear that Iran will never get a nuclear bomb. The special envoy of Witkoff sent a detailed and acceptable proposal to the Iranian regime, and it is in their best interest to accept it.”

Leavitt added: “The government will not comment on the details of the media proposal out of respect for the ongoing transactions.”

“His dear brother @badralbusaidi, the distinguished Omani Foreign Minister, made a brief visit to Tehran today to express elements of the U.S. proposal to conform to the principles, national interests and rights of the Iranian people, to respond appropriately.”

Back in 2018, Trump withdrew from an Obama-era nuclear deal with Iran and imposed sanctions on Middle Eastern countries. However, U.S. and Iranian officials have recently participated in multiple rounds of negotiations related to Iran’s nuclear program.

On Friday, Trump said the United States and Iran were “quite close” to reaching a new deal.

“I think we have a chance to reach an agreement with Iran,” Trump said.

“They don’t want to be blown up,” he added. “They would rather have an agreement, and I think it might happen in the not too far future.”
