White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will be a reporter after the government shutdown Wednesday afternoon.
Neither senators on both sides of the aisle reached an agreement on a parking raising plan. Republicans advanced a “clean” plan last month, while Democrats believe any spending bill needs to address health care tax credits and funding cuts.
President Trump blamed most of the funding failures on the left, showing that there could be many layoffs if no agreement was reached to keep the lights. Last week, the Office of Management and Budget informed agencies if the government does shut down mass shootings.
The Senate voted Wednesday afternoon to block the bill passed by the Republican Party that could reopen the government until November 21.
The briefing is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
