House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY) will talk to reporters Thursday afternoon as Republicans advance to President Trump’s strong legislative agenda.

Republicans on the House Energy and Commerce Committee introduced legislation on significant cuts to Medicaid and health care provisions, some of the most controversial provisions in the bill. Democrats delayed cuts in funding, and Republican efforts to expand Trump’s 2017 tax cuts.

Jeffries has violated the president’s policies since returning to the office more than 100 days ago, from diversity reduction, fairness and conclusion (DEI) plans to Trump’s immigration crackdown to the Department of Administration Efficiency (DOGE) overhaul of the federal workforce and beyond.

His comments were also posted in spokesman Mike Johnson (R-la.) expressed support for the stock trading ban on support for members of Congress, which minority leaders have also pushed for.

The press conference is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
