White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will brief reporters on Friday afternoon, the second day after President Trump announced its first major trade deal after widespread tariffs announced last month.

Trump unveiled a deal between the United States and the United Kingdom on Thursday, with global and domestic markets continuing to attract attention as the government rolls out tariffs. On Thursday, the president suggested that “more” deals are underway.

Finance Minister Scott Bessent is expected to meet with Swiss Chinese officials over the weekend as the White House shows it can lower import taxes in Beijing – currently facing 145% tariffs on imported goods

The brief also appears ahead of the president’s trip to the Middle East next week as the Trump administration continues to assist with a ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine.

The event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
