Trump touts the “big and beautiful” bill in Republican Party after Iran strikes

President Trump touted the “great unity” among Republicans following the U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities as he called on the party to focus on bringing the agenda bill to his table.

“The Republican unification in the Republican Party, perhaps like a unification we have never seen before,” Trump said in a social post on truth.

“Now let’s make a great, big, beautiful bill. Our country is doing a great job. Mecca!” he added.

The president’s remarks came after he announced Saturday night that U.S. troops bombed three Iranian nuclear sites and told Iran in a social media post: “It’s time for peace!”

The bomb targeted three nuclear sites in Natanz, Esfahan and Fordo, located in the mountains. Five “Bunker Buster” bombs were reportedly sent to Fudo, while more than twenty tomahawks were fired at the other two locations.

The bombings took the United States directly into Iran’s crosshairs for retaliation and made it an active participant in the war in the Middle East, with Israel launching an air strike on Iran on June 13.

Before the strike, the news media focused on what was called a “civil war” in the Republican Party, a “America First” agenda between the pro-Israeli Foreign Policy Eagles and supporters. Members of both groups were openly lobbying the president when he considered military action against Iran.

While some anti-interventionist Republicans (including Rep. Thomas Massie (r-ky.) still publicly criticized the strike, most Republicans expressed support after the announcement.

The news came as the Senate entered a critical week of the president’s massive agenda bill, with Republican leaders still saying they hope to complete it by July 4.
