President Trump confirmed on Sunday that the nuclear submarines “in the region” two days later said the United States would position two nuclear submarines near Russia.

When asked if the submarine had been deployed, Trump told reporters when he returned to Washington: “I have issued a statement and the answer is that they are in the area, yes, yes.”

The president announced on Friday that he would locate the two nuclear submarines in “appropriate areas” near Russia following a “highly provocative statement” by former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

“Based on the highly provocative statements of the former Russian president, now Vice Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, I ordered Trump to say in a social truth post.

The president added: “Voice is very important and often leads to unexpected consequences and I hope this won’t be one of them.”

Trump warned Medvedev on Thursday after criticizing the president’s foreign policy “see his words.”

“Similarly, Russia and the United States do little. Let’s continue to do that and tell the failed former Russian president Medvedev thinks he is still the president, watching his words. He’s entered very dangerous territory!” he said Thursday.

The president reiterated on Sunday that his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, plans to visit Russia in the coming days, planning to impose sanctions on the war between Russia and Ukraine.
