President Trump said he will begin negotiations with China on the popular video sharing platform Tiktok in the upcoming week.

“We almost reached a deal. I think we’re going to start asking Monday or Tuesday, talking to China, maybe President Xi Jinping (Gining) or one of his representatives, but we’ve almost reached a deal.”

The president said his administration would “probably” have to get a deal approved by China.

“Not sure, but it’s possible,” he said.

Trump signed an executive order in mid-June to extend the deadline for the 90-day evacuation of social media platforms from Chinese parent Bytedance. A new deadline is scheduled for September 17.

This is the third extension signed by Trump since returning to the White House in January. The order directs the Department of Justice not to enforce the law or impose fines related to legislation.

Former President Biden signed a law last year to force savages to evacuate from Tiktok, otherwise the platform will face a ban on U.S. networks

Trump told reporters on Friday that he had a “good relationship” with XI.

“I think it’s good for them. I think this deal is good for China, it’s good for us and for us, it’s money,” the president said.

Trump said in an interview in late June that he found Tiktok’s buyer.

When Fox News host Maria Bartiromo asked who the buyer was, the president said: “I will tell you about two weeks later.”

He also added that the buyers are “very, very wealthy people.”
