A new statue appears at the National Mall, a mysterious group called Secret Handshake. A 12-foot piece of art holds hands and pride to President Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Organizers said it was “to mark the friendship month”, which was clearly the month. The plaque on the statue reads: “We celebrate the long-term bond between President Donald J. Trump and his “closeest friend, Jeffrey Epstein.”
Apparently, the president was not amused by the installation. “Liberals are free to waste their money, but they think it’s appropriate, but it’s not news that Epstein knows Donald Trump because he kicked Epstein out of his club because of squirting,” a White House spokesman told TMZ.
The truth is, this irony points to an inconvenient fact. It reminds the president that Epstein’s story has not disappeared, no matter what he calls it a “scam.”
When Trump runs, he is all about transparency Epstein. He and his top consultants participated in the podcast and promised to reveal colleagues, documents, and so-called “customer lists.” Then he won the election and the voice changed: the Justice Department concluded that there was no single “customer list” to be released, and the government quietly withdrew the wider disclosure. Nothing was resolved on that back-it only made people more angry and suspicious.
What matters now is not gossip. Its documentation and accountability.
The House Oversight Committee released part of Epstein’s “birthday book” which included a sketchy note bound to the president – Trump denied a detail, but one of them caused a bunch of problems. Later, reporters described the “truck load” of relevant documents reviewed by the Justice Department, and members of Congress continued to push for the stuffing of these files into the light.
So, when the FBI director began literally reciting his ABC under pressure from Congress, rather than answering whether Trump’s name was in the archives, it would be alarmed.
That moment further convinced what Americans had been saying for months: We didn’t get a direct answer.
Rep. Thomas Massie and others are using procedural tools to force a vote to publish the rest of the documents. If successful, he believes the published documents may show new, politically dangerous connections.
“I think this will embarrass some billionaires, some donors who have connections to his campaign,” the Kentucky Republican said. “Our CIA and other foreign intelligence may be connected to intelligence, and the American people know that our intelligence agencies are working with pedophiles who are operating sex trafficking rings.”
So whether you think the statues in a mall are art, protests or pranks, it shows what many Americans ask for: Share all you know about Epstein and his connections. Each new rejection is distracting before publishing each relevant document, including bank records, and answering each question. Every distraction only deepens doubt.
Call it an accountability theater or a delay in justice, but there is no doubt that the legend will follow Donald Trump around until the truth comes out.
