That’s not a hotel, it’s a hotel.
The most iconic residence in the area – the Crocodile Hotel in the heart of Kakadu National Park – is already on the market.
The Mercure Kakadu Crocodile in Jabiru is the only crocodile hotel in the world, and Colliers offers “rental benefits and business opportunities” through an expression of interest closed on April 17.
Originally named by the Gagudju Crocodile Hotel, the property was built in 1988 in Mirarr Country and is now part of the Indigenous-owned Kakadu Tourism Group.

It is believed that the shape of the hotel was chosen because of the cultural significance of the crocodile to the local gagudju people.
After Crocodile Dundee successfully placed the area and its resident crocodile on the map, the hotel helped open Kakadu to the tourism industry.
There is no doubt that it attracted mobs of international tourists at the time, only to impress their best “this is not a knife” impression at every meal and to plan their daily “Walkabout”.
The spotlight of Dundee has been falling for a long time, with Croc Hotel starring in the 2019 hit “Top Wedding” alongside other territorial idol Miranda Tapsell.

The Coal Mine List says the Crocodile Hotel “has the honor to be located in one of the only few UNESCO World Heritage Sites listed, all recognized for their cultural and natural significance.”
The listing says: “The hotel is well-known for its crocodile design, built around a large garden swimming pool and features a wide range of leisure and commercial facilities, including meeting spaces with a capacity of up to 250 delegates and 110 rooms.”
“Incoming investors have the opportunity to enhance the iconic hotel and establish it as the top choice for hotel accommodation in Kakadu National Park.”

The list proposes possible enhancements such as upgrading rooms, restaurants and conference facilities, as well as further development of cultural tourism and Ocher Gallery.
The hotel is 250m long and 30m wide and is built around the central swimming pool.
The entrance passes through the chin of the crocodile, while the restaurant, bar and art gallery are located at the head.
Guests can sleep on the belly and tail of the beast.
Since its establishment, the hotel has been managed by a variety of companies including ACCOR, IHG, Bass and SPHG.
