Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) said Tuesday that President Trump called Saturday to ask about the “very kind” when he was “again” when he was arson attacking the governor’s mansion last weekend.

“I thank the President for calling me on Saturday morning,” Shapiro told reporters during the annual Easter egg hunt at the governor’s residence.

Shapiro said Trump called from his cell phone, so he didn’t recognize the number from the beginning and then let it go to voicemail.

“I don’t know who that is,” Shapiro said. “As soon as I hear his message, I will call him immediately.”

Shapiro briefly outlined the phone, saying it lasted over 15 minutes and covered a range of topics.

Shapiro said: “He was very polite. He asked Lori how he performed with the kids. (We) talked about what happened to the residence for a few minutes, and then we talked about other topics for the next 15 minutes or so.”

He continued: “Obviously, I won’t be attending our private conversation, but he’s happy with the issues that I’m important to me. I certainly know the issues that are important to him and we agree to stay in touch.”

In an interview aired last evening, Shapiro told ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos that he did not call him on the first night of Passover after the president set fire on his house early Sunday morning. The governor said he had heard from Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel.
