Senator Bernie Sanders slammed the law firm that dealt with President Trump in an interview aired Sunday.
“What do you do with law firms cutting transactions?” CBS News’ Robert Costa asked Sanders on “Sunday Morning CBS News.”
“Absolutely timid,” Sanders replied.
Sanders later added that the companies “will sell their souls to Donald Trump in order to continue making money in Washington.”
Several law firms have recently reached deals with the president under pressure from the government, which has the potential to cut security permits and government contracts for multiple major legal companies through review procedures. It also warned through an executive order that it approved lawyers’ “unreasonable” lawsuits.
Earlier this week, President Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with the well-known law firm Millbank LLC. The president said the company has agreed to receive at least $100 million in unpaid legal services in a joint move across the government.
Trump previously said: “Milbank will not deny representation to clients, such as politically disenfranchised groups and representatives of government officials, employees and consultants who have historically received legal representation from major state law firms.”
The law firm of former second gentleman Doug Emhoff is also one of those who have reached a similar deal with the Trump administration.
