The Obama Foundation touted progress in the construction of its presidential library after President Trump mocked builders for lagging behind developing the property.

“Next spring, we can’t wait to open the door to the President Obama Center! In addition to the world-class museum, the 19.3-acre campus will also feature a gymnasium, a fruit and vegetable garden, a branch of the Chicago Public Library, a playground and more,” the Obama Foundation wrote on social media platform x.

Another post thanks all workers for their contribution to the project. Comments after Trump’s Tuesday statement criticized the time it took to develop a library.

“I mean, President Obama — if he wants to help, I will help him because I’m on time and on budget — he is building his presidential library in Chicago. It’s a disaster,” Trump said in a news list Tuesday, said in a news list by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

“What he said was for ‘I just want dei (diversity, fairness and inclusion), I just want to wake up.’ He wanted the people who woke up to wake up, he woke up, their costs were overspent, and I didn’t know it was a disaster.

The Trump administration has tried to ban Dei in the public and private sectors through a series of execution orders.

The Obama Foundation responded to the visitors’ experience in a statement Tuesday.

“Everyone who sees the Obama Center is shocked by its beauty, its scale, and its way it becomes Chicago’s economic engine and its beacon of world hope,” a spokesperson wrote in a statement to the Hill.
