Tech billionaire Elon Musk saw the reputation of his two companies, Tesla Motors and SpaceX Plummet, in a new survey conducted by Axios and Harris Poll.

The 2025 poll was released Tuesday to measure the brand reputation of 100 “most visible” companies in the United States, making the overall score of each brand based on performance in multiple categories and rank 100 companies accordingly.

In 2021, SpaceX was ranked No. 1. 5. Tesla ranks first. 8, scores were 81.1 and 80.2, respectively.

By 2025, SpaceX will rank in No. 86. Tesla ranks No. 95, scores were 66.4 and 61.3 respectively.

Although SpaceX seems to have left the “most obvious” list in recent years (which was determined through preliminary investigations), Tesla’s reputation has begun to decline when the company ranked in NO. 63.

Musk was underperformed in the rankings when he took a more open and polarized role, participating in President Trump’s 2024 campaign and serving as a senior White House adviser.

As Musk’s fierce moves at the Doge drew public opposition, his Tesla company began to take a blow – with the destruction of the storefront and the stock nose.

Musk recently said he will take a step back and focus on his company. The poll was released before Musk said he also planned to reduce political spending.

The mountain has been exposed to Tesla and SpaceX for comment.

The poll was conducted in three waves of surveys from March 6 to 22, including one of 16,585 Americans, which determines the ranking of each brand. The error range is 2.5 percentage points.
