A new NBC News poll shows that more and more Republicans are embracing the banner of President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” movement, which has exacerbated an overall surge in Americans crying with Trump’s ubiquitous rally.
In March, more than 70% of Republicans said in a poll that they considered themselves part of the MAGA movement, up from 55% before the November presidential election, which brought Trump back to the White House this year.
The investigation found that the consolidation of the Republican Party around Trump and his policies has promoted an overall transformation to adopt the Maga nickname and take it to new heights.
Trump isn’t the first politician to try to “make America great again” in his campaign slogan, but Shorthand Magazine has been synonymous with the former reality TV star and the populist tendency of his political ideology since he launched the first successful presidential election nearly a decade ago.
NBC News reported that in January 2024, about 1 registered voter from all civil parties was identified as a MAGA supporter. In a survey conducted last month, that number almost doubled to less than 40%.
This shift is also particularly evident among college-educated men, from 21% last fall to 37% in March.
The NBC News Poll was conducted by non-partisan pollsters’ public opinion strategy and surveyed 1,000 registered voters via phone and online from March 7 to 11. The error range is 3.1 percentage points.
