Texas Democrats fled the Lone Star state of Blue State to stop Republican redistribution legislation, and he fired a shot on Monday at Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) for threatening to remove them without showing up.
“We, the democratic contingent, are following what our voters are asking for us,” Texas Rep. Joe Landa Jones (D) said in a press conference Monday for New York Gov. Casey Hogul (D).
Abbott held it firmly on Monday afternoon. “Texans won’t escape,” he said on Fox News. “They confiscate seats and face potential felony charges.”
Attorney Jones also dismissed Abbott’s statement about felony depriving the House of Representatives quorum, saying they had no crimes left of the state.
Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a radio interview on Monday that he is confident that Republicans will achieve their redistricting goals. “Eventually they will have to come back. They have a job and a family,” he said.
Many Texas Democrats left Sunday to prevent the state legislature from reaching a quorum at Monday’s legislative session, thus preventing the chamber of commerce from doing business.
Democrats radiate bulk in blue states, including Illinois and New York, where governors vowed to stand with them to prevent new Congressional maps from being approved.
Meanwhile, President Trump said Sunday that he fired the Labor Statistics Director on Friday after drastic revisions in his recent work report, and he will appoint a “new statistician” this week.
He spins the Cultural Wars in a controversial Sydney Sweeney ad in denim jeans. “Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican with the “hottest” ads there. It’s for the American Eagle, and jeans are ‘flying to the shelf.’ Go find’em sydney!” Trump said on Truth Social.
