Haiku Claremont, Greystar, offers unusual offers for some of its tenants.
A Melbourne landlord offers $3,000 sweetener to tenants who want to have a neighbor’s shed, the eyebrows of a relationship and rental expert.
Global construction rental giant Greystar offers rental fees for couples who build relationships in expensive South Yara buildings and hopes to upgrade to larger apartments in the same complex.
This proposal is also open to those who build friendships and want to live with the newly discovered BFF.

But if a resident falls from someone outside the building and wants to upgrade his rent or leave for other reasons – they will have to pay an exit fee, usually about four weeks of rent, and in the haiku Claremont development, the weekly price starts at $785.
This means the base fee is $3140, although it may be higher for more expensive apartments.
Exit fees are the standard of the lease agreement and are used in the vast majority of cases, violating the lease before the agreed term.
Greystar Australia managing director Matt Woodland said the building is designed to help residents connect with their neighbors and share their time — and “if helping them find a new BFF or life partner, that’s a reward.”
Mr Woodland said there will be books and pet clubs and wine tastings to help like-minded residents — buildings they see couples in the U.S. business, especially in buildings in Portland and Seattle.
He added that he believes many people are tired of online dating and now some want a way to satisfy “the real thing.”
The rooftop bar has been seen as a potential place for romantic blossoming.
The most affordable home in a building is Studio Apartments.
“For us, it’s a positive benefit … I don’t think it’s a bias toward moving together for the wrong reasons,” Mr Woodland said.
“This proposal marks our commitment to providing Australian renters is not just apartments, but to find homes and communities.
“Who knows, maybe they’ll find a good friend in their new neighbors, or even more.”
The company also believes happy tenants are more likely to live long term and better care for the building and its employees working there.
Some of the more romantic features of the $500 million building include a private lounge, a rooftop bar and a residential-only cinema.
Potential couples from its 235 apartments can also better understand what they might get in the indoor and outdoor pools, or sweat together at the gym or yoga studio.
“In today’s housing environment, renters need not only the roof on the roof, but also the contact,” Woodland said.
“This proposal is to make it easier to enjoy a shared space and foster a sense of community, whether it’s a dinner party, watching the sunset on the rooftop or attending a movie night. It’s about more connection to your life and reconnecting with real life times.”
Apartment rentals start at $785 per week for studio homes, with two-bedroom homes rising to $1,290.
According to the latest PropTrack figures, while the median unit rental price in the suburbs exceeds $200, Claremont Apartments offers a full range of furniture, with fees ranging from utility and Wi-Fi Internet.
Private dining areas in the building can be suitable for crowds or for more intimate occasions.
The lounge can also provide a space to meet your neighbors with social or romantic intentions.
However, there are terms and conditions that each party has a requirement to live in a separate apartment for at least three months, has paid the rent, signed a new 12-month lease, which they cannot reduce to cheaper accommodation.
The proposal is currently scheduled to end in October, although they say they will evaluate it before making a final decision.
Dr Janet Hall, a relationship expert and retired Melbourne psychologist, said that landlords motivate relationships was her “no”.
“If you start talking about saving money from a relationship, it’s very objective, not just falling in love,” Dr. Hall said.
“No need to motivate it.”
She added that she would also personally worry about it to invade privacy to inform the landlord about changes in her love life, noting that “love at first sight is a bit of a marriage.”
“It would be better if you accidentally lock it in the elevator,” Dr. Hall said.
“But people should look online, or join Meet UPS to find something that is interesting to them.”
A podcast studio where residents can build a very 2025 relationship.
The sized apartments are large in scope, but some are very spacious and suitable for couples or roommates.
Tenant Victoria Acting CEO Cameron Bloye said “interesting advertising ideas” may not be suitable for tenants who are sensitive to affordability.
“While that may be a little bit, if it works for some renters, we hope they will go well,” Mr Broy said.
“(But) Rent is increasingly a long-term or permanent housing situation for many people, and many renters are forced to make decisions based on what they can afford rather than the way they really want to live.”
Greystar currently has 935 high-end units in Melbourne and can be offered in two buildings, a second building, another in Melbourne’s second building, another under construction or planning, including a tower near the South Yara Islands, which will open in August.
The U.S. company currently operates $320 billion in real estate, with one million beds worldwide, including the United States, Europe and Asia.
