ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel slammed CBS on Thursday to end “late with Stephen Colbert”.

The network announced Thursday that “late” will end in May 2026 after 33 years of airing. Paramount said the decision to abolish the show was “a financial decision purely against the backdrop of challenging late nights.”

But, in which President Trump’s voice critic Colbert slammed the network’s “Big Fatty” through an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign, a change in the show’s formulation.

“CBS should terminate his contract, and there are few people on the streets, they will do better, and money for money,” Trump said last year of Colbert.

Other late-night hosts gathered behind Colbert after the cancellation message was interrupted.

NBC’s “Late Night” host Seth Meyers wrote in his Instagram story: “@stephenathome is a great comedian and host, @stephenathome is a better person.”

He added: “I would miss him on TV every night, but I’m excited that he can no longer use the excuse that he’s ‘busy to hang out with me’.”

NBC’s “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon also expressed support for Colbert.

“I really thought I would ride with him for many years,” Fallon wrote on Instagram.

He added: “Honestly, he’s really been a gentleman and a real friend over the years – back to the ‘Colbert Report’, I’m sure everything he’ll be just as good as he’s coming.”
