The Italian city of Fornery in the Morris region of Italy will be dedicated to the monument to realize the creator of the forged Bitcoin (BTC).
Fornelli said in an April 23 Facebook post that it plans to unveil Satoshi artwork on May 1. Details of the announcement of the monument are not clear, but municipalities say it was designed by artist Mattia Pannoni and funded by local governments.
“As a government, it is important to consider all the new ideas from our young people,” Fornelli Mayor Giovanni Tedeschi said.
According to local governments, Fornelli has the highest Bitcoin density in the world of about 1,800 residents. Other regions are trying to use BTC or other cryptocurrencies to attract visitors, including the Bitcoin Beach area in El Salvador and the Swiss city of Zug, which accepts cryptocurrencies for many local goods and services.
Depicting a faceless person through art
Since the 2008 Bitcoin White Paper, Satoshi’s identity, whether it’s one person or a group of people, remains one of the biggest mysteries in the cryptocurrency space.

Many artists, whether crypto investors or other artists, have released artworks in an attempt to represent the creators of pseudonyms through statues and digital images. A common theme in these works is the display of Satoshi, without any well-defined facial features, sometimes wearing a hoodie or working on a computer.
