IRS Information Lead Leaves the Organization: Report

The IRS chief information officer said he will leave the agency later this month, announcing that he announced his departure shortly before the April 15 tax period deadline, multiple media reported Monday night.

Rajiv Uppal, who has held the position since early 2024, reportedly announced in an email to staff that he would leave the tax collection agency on April 28.

Kaschit Pandya of the IRS Chief Technology Office will now take over Uppal, according to Bloomberg Tax, a tax rate that first reported the upcoming departure.

Before working as IRS Chief Information Officer, Uppal held the same titles at Medicare and Medicaid Services Centers.
