About 200 people packed the lawn of a house in Camp Hill on Saturday morning: a brand new building from a developer that hopes to sell the house for millions of auctions at auction.

The five-bedroom, three-bathroom residence on 10 Janette ST is named “Sintra”, a custom property located on 637 m2 of land.

The home is built by Slate Property and aims to have natural light in its indoor and outdoor living plans: three metres of ceilings, six metres of voids and French oak floors, featuring some of the luxury features of the home.


It attracted hundreds of people, many of which auctioneer Peter Burgin said he was eager to see the view of the Brisbane housing market for sale.

“A lot of local markets are there, people who might sell, people who others are buying, just want to evaluate the market itself,” he said. “There is a lot of enthusiasm there, and it feels like a lot of people are in real estate mode.”

The crowd was huge, with only two registered bidders heading to the house itself.

The houses built from slate property attracted about 200 people at auction Saturday morning.


Bidding started at $3.5 million: a high price, and a higher price was wasted only after a moment.

“It’s very fast,” he said. “The bidding rose from 3.5 to 3.8 in about 10 seconds.”

The bid stopped shortly after a short while, and after some discussion with the supplier, the home was sold for $3,831,000.

Plaza Woolloongabba Agent Denis Najzar said the two bidders are two local families who desire prestige locations for their new home.

“Unfortunately, only one of them can win the property,” he said.

“It’s a very good competitive auction and a great result for the supplier.”

“He is very composed and believes in his product,” he added. Some of Mr. Berkin’s slate think the home is “probably their best project yet”.
