A dedicated Melbourne nurse helped Royal Children’s Hospital add $1,150,500 to the Good Friday appeal and bought a home for her family.
Maddison Luebker became an anesthesia nurse who studied in children for a while, his older brother was still a patient during his infancy, still shocked after winning a bid for the Mt Duneed property.
Ms. Lubeck said during the first inspection that while the house “feels like ours,” they thought they would show up again, which was a rush in other houses.

“That’s the dream home, but it feels far away and I don’t think we’ll get it,” she said.
“That happened today. That’s the house…it must have been.”
Ms. Luebker won the final $500 bid among one of three bidders, demanding the key to their four-bedroom home built at Armstrong Mt Duneed Estate in Villawood Properties, all proceeds will be appealed.
She had to pause part of the auction to confirm that her husband Rhece could go beyond the planned budget for an additional $10,000, but knowing where the money went, they both thought it was worth it.
The two-story Juno Design Home, written by Henley, set a new record for the annual Good Friday appeal role model auction, a figure of $1.11 billion last year.
Prior to the auction, the impressive home was worth more than $1.3 million.
The first call after the auction was for her husband, telling him “we just spent a lot of money.”
Ms Lubeck said: “We are lucky that our daughter is healthy and I can’t imagine what it would be like for parents to go to the hospital, so if we have debt, the best place to go is to go to the Royal Children’s Hospital.”
The pair will move into the property with their 2-year-old daughter Mia as they move from Point Cook to Torquay’s parents.
Villawood Properties co-founder Rory Costelloe said the record results in the election campaign were particularly outstanding, but noted that buyers still did a good job.

“People do seem to have surpassed for a while because of the enthusiasm of the day,” Mr Costelloe said.
“But the home is worth over $1.3 million … It’s the best estate in Villawood, the house is near the nature reserve and creek, within walking distance to trains, shops and schools. So it’s really the best location.
“We are very excited.”
Henley Homes CEO Antony Blackshaw said he set a new record for the latest record after building 46 units in support of Good Friday appeals, and they are estimated to have raised $22 million in total.
Ms. Luebker looks forward to sitting on the sofa with her family when she moves into the house later this year.
Located in one of the top locations in the area, this house offers a wide range of local amenities.
“This year is $1.014 million higher than our first home ever,” Blackshaw said.
“So, for all the transactions and workers involved to get such results, this is a good result. Most of the people who work on it are at the Children’s Hospital themselves, or their children use their services.”
Paul Tzamalis, the Victorian Real Estate Academy’s annual auction grader, said his own first child was recently born, which was an honor.
Mr Tzamalis added that you work for every additional bid “when you know every dollar is going to go to the Royal Children’s Hospital”.
“It’s a very special moment,” he said.
