A top fund manager who only takes 12 minutes to buy a large penthouse with an eight-car garage for $17.5 million.
A top fund manager bought his large penthouse in just 12 minutes and sold the eight-car garage for $17.5 million four years later.
Among the biggest sales in Brisbane this year, the property was sold overnight after four written offers at the 1821/22 refinery parade on the new farm.
Brisbane foreigner Ben Cleary, a multi-billion dollar fund manager and director of Tribeca’s investment partner, paid $10 million for the property in 2020, a record price.

The property marched at the refinery on 1821/22 and the new farm was sold for $17.5 million.

Sarah Hackett, managing director of the real estate agent, negotiated the sale of the property, but refused to disclose the sale price.
Sources close to the deal indicate it was acquired by local families for $17.5 million in international operations.
Mrs. Hackett said the supplier spent 12 minutes inspecting the property when he moved from Singapore to Brisbane in 2020, then merged the two penthouses into one and underwent a full renovation.
The view of the new farm at the refinery parade on 1821/22 is “extraordinary”.
Mrs. Hackett said: “The most unusual thing about this apartment is the view.”
“360 degrees…I just think you can’t get a better position. The number of views can’t be built.”
She said the four written offers all came from local families, some of whom own property in Australia.
“It’s just a testament to the demand for apartments is so strong,” Mrs. Hackett said.
“We have a lot of people who want to downsize and give up maintaining a big house and go on a life.

“They want some scale, but there is no maintenance.”
She said many people in the new farm, Hamilton and surrounding suburbs want to shrink to home-sized apartments.
“One of the privileges of this penthouse is that the company provides security for a dog every night.”
Mr Cleary and his wife Jane revealed the buyer of the heritage listed luxury home in Sutherland Ave, Ascot, who set a new home price record last year for Brisbane.
The deal was negotiated by Ray White Ascot’s Damon Warat and Cohen Handler’s Jordan Navybox in Queensland.
