Kentucky businessman Nate Morris launched a Senate bid Thursday to replace senior state lawmaker Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who said he would not seek reelection earlier this year.

Morris announces a bid to Donald Trump Jr.

“I think it’s time to take out the trash from Washington, D.C., bring new people, people outside, a not a professional politician, and most importantly, a person only looks at the people, not McConnell’s relatives, and the people who have taken this seat through McConnell over the past 40 years,” he said on Thursday’s episode.

Morris criticized McConnell for months.

However, his opponent tries to crack the image.

“Nate is the only candidate who doesn’t support Donald Trump in the 2024 primary election – he donated $5,000 to Nikki Haley, advocated for radical dei policies, used diversity quotas to recruit and even hired campaign managers from Obama and Kamala to help run his company.

“Nate Morris is pretending to be Maga now, but he can’t get rid of all the liberal junk from the past.”

Morris is currently planning to compete with Barr and former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron in the Republican primary, while Democratic State Rep. Pamela Stevenson has also announced a Senate seat.

The state’s primary election is scheduled to begin on May 19, 2026.
