I was able to sit down with Bitcoin core developer Antoine Pooinsot while attending the MIT Bitcoin Expo earlier this month.

Currently at Chaincode Labs, Antoine has previously been at Wizardsardine, a Bitcoin security company behind Revault, a pre-signed transaction library, while Liana is a Miniscript-based Bitcoin wallet. Antoine’s first submission was merged into Bitcoin Core on May 16, 2019.

We discussed Antoine’s best consensus cleanup proposal is an expected soft fork of the Bitcoin protocol modeled by the original Verson of Matt Corallo’s original 2019 proposal.

Bitcoin has suffered a lot of mistakes over the years, with some serious events such as the inflation bug in 2010.

Antoine talks about these different protocol errors, and the solutions he proposes to solve these problems. It can be said that some people are just footrifts, and if you know them, it’s easy to consider them, but some of them are very serious flaws that can pose real risks to the Bitcoin network.
