After its existing owner decided to retire, a multiple awarded Adelaide Hills Winery, known for producing Australia’s largest commercial alternative wines, is well known in the market.
Artwine produces 20 Mediterranean wines from 17 grown grapes grown in its hometown of Woodside, and produces smaller vineyards in a smaller vineyard in Spring Farm in Clare Valley.
Founded in 2008 by Judy and Glen Kelly, the wine label is the only Adelaide Hills wine gate in Prosecco that offers estate-grown and the first Adelaide Gate to produce Albalino.

Woodside Base in Artwine is for sale at 72 Bird Hand Rd.
The winery has won multiple awards and produced Australia’s largest commercial alternative wine.
It is located on a sprawling 25.5 hectares property with architecturally designed cellar doors.
The wine cellar door surrounds the stunning views of the vineyards.
Artwine is also the first to plant grapes of fiancé, Graciano, Viognier, Montepulciano and Grenache Gris in Clare Valley and has won over 40 awards for its alternative wines, including the 2024 National Cool Climate Wine Show’s Champion White Variety Trophy.
Ms. Kelly said she and her husband were proud to offer only another or emerging Mediterranean wine, which she said is lighter in style and easier to pair with food than traditional varieties.
She said all Artwine’s products belong to real estate, single vineyards, minimal sulfites and vegetarians.
Ms. Kelly said: “If we don’t want to drink it, then we won’t put it in the bottle – I can assure you that a couple has already been in the water because we don’t think they are good enough.”
“There is no Spanish, Sauvignon Blanc or Riesling or Cabernet Sauvignon in our portfolio.
“What we have are beautiful varieties, relatively new in Australia, but they aren’t really new (in the rest of the world) – we have 100-year-old bushes in Clare Valley.

The home building designed by Max Pritchard is also part of the property.
It connects to the wine cellar door and is connected through access to the garage and balcony area.
This house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The property lists no price tag.
Ms. Kelly said while the brewery has been a labor of love for the couple, they are now looking for others to retake the ropes to allow them to retire.
Artwine has approximately 21.2 hectares of planting in its two vineyards, while Woodside property includes a stunning cellar door with panoramic views, immersive tasting experience and a 500 m2 licensed area.
There is also a beautiful Max Pritchard-designed country house that can accommodate up to four double bedrooms and multiple living spaces.
Ms Kelly hopes new buyers will continue to expand their business, which will soon begin small-scale distribution to New South Wales.
She said successful buyers could also expand to overseas markets.
“It’s a great business and we’d love to stay, but neither of us are young,” Ms. Kelly said.
“For a while, you had to bite a bullet and let someone else in, and that had more energy to keep it going and push it harder.’’
The brewery has no price guide listed and it is sold through agribusiness.
