Open air and sheds for Sonny and Alicia
Score: 29, second place
The married Queensland couple is far from the winner of this week, and Marty calls Alfresco the most connected outdoor area he has ever seen throughout the day.
“It actually makes me prefer the interior because it feels like a, a, a large space,” he said.
Darren added: “They do, really, really make the exterior of this house proud. It’s very beautiful with the palette and still feels soft, seductive and practical.”
“Sheels” is what Marty calls the shed, and he thinks it’s smart to look like a workbench.
Sonny and Alicia’s laundry, pantry, muddy rooms, closets and garage
Score: 26.5, third place
A dry cabinet separates the laundry from all other houses and refrigerators in the storage room, although the judge believes they missed in the layout. Plus the mud room in the dog area has received good reviews, and Marty says it works very well.
WC left Darren and was completely speechless, Shaynna said: “It’s just something you see in high-end homes or high-end boutique hotels. It’s hot.”
“Their delivery is far beyond my expectations,” Darren said.
“We will judge them on five different spaces this week, which is what we just saw – because it’s not poverty,” Marty added.
The judge believes that the photos used on the garage walls and doors are heroes of the area.
Guest Suites in Sonny and Alicia
Score: 28, second place
The wallpaper designed by Alicia was highly praised by Shaynna, who said it was something she would buy as a designer.
Marty said the suite caused a lot of emotions, from carpets to cabinets to beautiful bedside lamps.
“A lot of things happened here, but it worked,” he said.
While there is no small kitchen, Marty approved amenities such as the bar and coffee area around the corner.
“They did pick it up this week,” he said.
“It’s hard to beat because it’s big. It feels big.”
The minimal style effect of the suite, Shanener said, the duo “really strengthened” this week.
“I finally felt that Sonny and Alicia got their grooves,” she said.
Sonny and Alicia’s Kitchen Reveal
Score: 27, third place
Like a piece of bread, Marty summed up the blue kitchen approach.
“I really like the layout, but from a marketing standpoint, nothing stands out.”
“It’s not causing huge emotions. It’s a very basic feeling space.”
Darren disagrees with Marty and doesn’t feel like Daylesford said: “I think what is missing is a layer of drama and a layer of influence.”
“It is important that they have made the space planning and the construction environment very right,” he said.
Shaynna said that in order to sell “dreams”, the kitchen needs to reach the “next level”.
Sonny and Alicia’s colors drench the Rumpus Room
Score 27.5, third place
The couple’s decision to wet the room was shocked by Darren.
“That’s what I’ve always wanted to see all season,” he said. “It’s such a trend, so perfect for Daylesford, it’s perfect for a private space, especially a living space. I’m so glad.”
Shaynna says it’s perfect: “This is where you call it a corner room.”
“I like these second rooms, it’s not big, but they want to shroud you, that’s what the color does because we don’t have any breakthroughs on the ceiling, the walls. So it feels like a big space. It feels bigger.”
The judge pointed out that keeping the lighting switches, vents and speakers white is a mistake and should also be painted in the same color.
Life and Dining in Sonny and Alicia
Score: 20.5, fifth place
The brick fireplace was immediately welcomed by the judge, and Darren liked its link to the facade.
But their couple’s space planning once again disappointed them, with the living area being only three meters wide.
“The space of a small apartment is the same. That’s very small, very small. They have the exact square meters, but we feel like we are in a smaller space, which is fascinating. ” said Marty.
“They really really stuffed this room.”
Shaynna said the space was the “most confused room” that Sonny and Alicia did, and all the looks were wrong.
“I really care about their design direction because at the moment I can’t see a room connected to the next,” she said.
Master bedroom and walk-in closet for Sonny and Alicia
Score: 21.5, fourth place
When Darren called their lighting plans the best lighting plan to date, he particularly liked how the spotlight targeted the artwork.
Marty describes the room as “calm”, unlike the others.
All judges pointed out that while the wood veneer wall was beautiful, part of the stain showed drum marks while the grains on one side were upside down.
The walk-in closet also drew criticism, and the space plan was seen as a failure.
“I don’t feel like I’m at Daylesford at all,” Shaynna said.
“You stand in a two-bedroom apartment on the South Bank, which was sold to people overseas who had never visited 15 years ago,” Marty said.
Master bathroom in Sonny and Alicia
Score: 26.5, fourth place
Shaynna thinks the bathroom is the best styling home she has ever seen throughout the day, saying the space is relaxing, calm and beautiful.
She said she likes the green concrete solid bath, but the layout of the room was disappointing.
“If you look around, it should be a bathroom for the day,” Marty said.
But Marty said if Sonny and Alicia chose not to take advice to correct the layout, then buyers would still like it.
“If we were to take 10 buyers through all four homes we’ve seen, then a large percentage of those buyers said it was their favorite bathroom because of the quality and their choice, which is their favorite bathroom.”
Sonny and Alicia’s Kids Room Revealed
Score: 24.5, third place
Darren is obsessed with wallpaper and gallery walls, while Shaynna worships plush toy terriers sitting on the bed.
“I’m just standing here, I just think it’s the most beautiful picture, it’s equestrian, a modern country feel. It’s absolutely gorgeous,” Shaynna said.
But the other wall comes with a TV, like in a “very bad motel.”
The second room wasn’t like the kid’s room pointed out by Marty, and Shaynna agreed, but she said she liked the palette.
“In both rooms, the use of colors is sacred, and I think it’s worth it because it’s what we want and they’re served,” she said.
Sunny and Alicia’s bathroom
Score: 25.5, second place
Darren’s reaction to designs in the “right direction” was “good pet”.

Shaynna again pointed out that vanity is too high, but despite Marty saying the space is suitable for Daylesford.
“The more I’m here, the more I like it,” he said.
Shaynna also criticized some flat ground issues, but she said the executions and plans of the two were strong.
The two won a $10,000 budget award.
