Defense Minister Pete Hegseth said on Tuesday that the Russian invasion of NATO airspace was “unacceptable” and that just a few days later, multiple Russian fighter jets entered Estonian airspace.

“The important call yesterday with my Estonian counterpart @HPEVKUR. Russia’s invasion of NATO airspace is unacceptable. The Ministry of War’s statement with Estonia is based on and praised the fast, powerful related reaction.”

Three Russian fighter jets entered Estonian airspace last Friday, a incident that the country’s top diplomat called “an unprecedented and rough invasion.” Later that day, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal asked for Article 4 of NATO consultation.

Article 4 allows NATO members to raise any questions that threaten the territorial integrity, political independence or security of other NATO members.

“This morning, 31 Russian MIG-31 fighters entered Estonian airspace. NATO fighters responded and Russian planes were forced to flee. This illegal act is completely unacceptable. The Estonian government has decided to ask for Article 4 of NATO consultation,”

The recent tensions in Eastern Europe will reach four years in February driven by the Trump administration’s termination of ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.

President Trump said on Tuesday that Ukraine may have been victorious in the war with Russia and regained the land it lost “maybe even further away”.

Trump said on the Truth Society: “After understanding and fully understanding the military and economic situation of Ukraine/Russia, and after seeing the economic difficulties caused by Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the EU, can fight against it in its original form and win the entire Ukraine.”
