Hopefully, senators looking to get August after a few weeks of late night votes may not be lucky, President Trump asked Majority Leader John Thun (Rs.D.) on Saturday to cancel the chamber’s traditional summer vacation to confirm its enforcement and judicial appointments.

“Hopefully, the talented John Thune has stood out in the last two weeks, and in fact, there are six months of victory that will cancel the August break (and a long weekend!) to be confirmed by my incredible nominee,” Trump wrote on Truth Society. “We need them so much!!!”

Currently, the senator is scheduled to confirm six Trump appointments on Monday and lead drug enforcement agencies ahead of his draft pick. Currently, members are scheduled to take leave in August.

The threat of cancelling the break could prompt senators to avoid being appointed by the wall. Trump’s top candidates include Justice Department attorney Emil Bove as a judge in the federal appeals court. Former Fox News host Jeanine Pirro is also the top federal attorney in Washington, D.C.

Bove won special opposition from Democrats for the complaint from the whistleblower, saying he said the Trump administration should consider informing them of the court “f -you” if they issue an order to prevent the deportation of immigrants. Bove denied that he told the Justice Department’s lawyers that violated court orders.

Trump’s recent nominations include two draft picks from the National Labor and Industrial Relations Commission that enforces union regulations. Since Trump fired the rest of the Democratic Party in January, the board has been unable to function without a quorum.
