Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy slammed Stephen Colbert on Saturday, late-night hosts were “not grateful” after Colbert’s performance was ruled by CBS as a “financial decision.”
“For these people, including people like Colbert, it’s like ‘this isn’t true, we’re blind for a year’ – buddy, you lose $40 million a year.”
The network said it would pay $16 million to resolve the defamation lawsuit filed by President Trump only weeks after the cancellation came weeks after the decision Colbert had previously called “big fat bribery.” Paramount, the parent company of CBS, is currently seeking approval for the Trump FCC merger.
The members on the left speculated that CBS’ cancellation might be politically motivated, which is a claim that Portnoy effectively opened his eyes wide. Instead, he asserted that Colbert lost money and was “arrogant” in his criticism of CBS.
“Welcome to the real world of F*Cking,” Barstool founder said in the video, “Welcome to the real world of F*Cking.” He called it “Roar”.
“And then, do you have a company that is arrogant? What do you think will happen?” he asked.
Historically, Colbert has been a fierce critic of the president, having followed CBS before and settled it to resolve Trump’s claims, which the host calls “nuisance lawsuits.”
Portnoy said Colbert shouldn’t be so harsh in criticizing his network, especially if his show loses money. The New York Times estimates that the show’s losses are tens of millions of dollars.
“I’ll use f —-King of Heartbeat. That’s not politics. That’s just ungrateful.” “This is called capitalism in the real world.”
