In a poll released Thursday, tech billionaire and former Trump administration official Elon Musk had a preference in less than 25%.
Musk received only 23% favor in the CNN poll, with a 60% disadvantage. One-third said they “never heard of” Tesla and SpaceX CEOs, while 14% knew him but had no “opinion”.
Musk oversees the establishment of the Trump administration’s Department of Efficiency and previously appeared to be intimate with the president and other Republicans, and has since targeted Trump and Republican members on multiple issues.
Musk also continues to incite public conspiracy around convicted sex offender and shameful financier Jeffrey Epstein, due to increased pressure on the Trump administration to release additional information from criminal cases against Epstein.
The tech billionaire, in a dispute with Trump last month, accused Trump of being named in the Epstein archives and said: “This is why they are not publicly published, and the White House has delayed that, he said, the tech billionaire first planted the seeds of the recent Epstein dispute in his dispute with Trump.
In the CNN poll, the Republicans gained 33% favor and 51% disadvantage, while 3% said they “never heard of” the party, while 13% said they were aware of it but “no comment”.
The CNN poll was conducted from July 10 to 13, with 1,057 respondents and a smaller or minus 3.5 percentage points sampling error.
