Pam Bondi Attorney General Pam Bondi reportedly contacted former special counsel Jack Smith this week, who contacted former special counsel Jack Smith, who investigated President Trump’s efforts to handle confidential documents and overturn the 2020 election.
The New York Times reported that at least nine Justice Department workers were terminated by Bondy.
As part of the purge, multiple news outlets reported on Saturday that two prosecutors working under Smith were released, citing multiple anonymous sources. Reuters first reported the shooting late Friday.
The mountain has been contacted by the Ministry of Justice for comment.
The shooting is part of a department that works to scrub Smith’s department of people who have investigated Trump.
Smith dismissed the classification documents and election interventions late last year, noting that the Justice Department’s policy does not prosecute the current president of Smith, who resigned at the end of his term as former President Biden.
In late January, during Trump’s second term, the Justice Department opened at least a dozen prosecutors engaged in Trump’s criminal cases, saying they could not be trusted.
According to multiple media reports, the staff is now identified as terminated by a part of the Justice Department’s so-called “Weaponization Working Group,” which is aiming to review the department’s work and Smith’s work over the past four years.
Patty Hartman, the top public affairs expert, was fired Monday. Hartman is part of the media team of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia.
“The rule no longer exists. There was a line that used to be a very obvious separation between the White House and the Justice Department because one should not interfere with the other’s work. This line has certainly disappeared,” Hartman told CBS News.
