Unobstructed rural meeting landscapes and grand glass staircases make Vonanpur’s “The Great White House on the Hill” one of the most gazebo houses in the area.
Built by highly regarded local builder Paul Butters in a four-bedroom home on Hyland ST, a combination of bold architecture, luxurious finishes and knockouts, just a few blocks from the CBD.
Josh Bermingham of Harris and Wood said he had buyers from the area asking if the house was actually in Warrnambool.

“It’s close enough to walk into town, but high enough to enjoy a panoramic view from the paddock to the ocean,” Birmingham said.
“You simply don’t expect this combination here, especially at this price.”
The near-new home is expected to offer a level of design and quality for $1.45 million for $155,000. Mr Birmingham said in towns like Torquay, Ocean Grove or Lorne, Mr Birmingham said he would lose millions of dollars.
“If you lift the house and put it in one of the towns, you’ll easily add the asking price to zero,” he said.

The house is distributed on two levels, surrounding a soaring entrance void with a statement glass and wooden staircase.
An upstairs wall floods the living and dining area of natural light and is anchored by a landed stacked stone fireplace.
The kitchen comes with sleek gold faucets, premium appliances and a walk-in Butler’s pantry that connects seamlessly to the elevated deck with a glimpse of the country facade and ocean.
The master suite includes a private balcony, walk-in robes and large suite with warm layered texture.

There is also a large garage and workshop under the house, plus side access to other vehicles or trailers.
Other inclusions in the home, such as double glazing windows, the solar system, tilt cycle heating and cooling, electric shutters and lift designs make the home energy efficient and future, Mr Birmingham said.
“The layout, quality and comfort make it a perfect long-term residence,” he said.

Harris and Agent Wood said the seller Hayley and her partner Brad became a solo project.
Despite initially planned as a home forever, they are now ready for the last creative chapter.
“They have built and sold a few times and just love the process,” Mr Birmingham said.
“Now that this guy is done, they are happy to be on the next project.”

He said the interest came from locals and Melbourne buyers, and the design, location and livability of the home resonated.
“There was a very strong reaction,” he said.
“People are attracted to the quality and once they come in, they get it.”
“In fact, it’s hard to find comparable items because such houses are built, not inhabited, not for sale. If this is back on the market in 10 years, I’d be shocked.”
