Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez get married in Venice

Billionaire Jeff Bezos and journalist Lauren Sánchez got married at a pre-marital wedding in Venice on Friday, and the Associated Press estimates are estimated to cost between $46 million and $56 million.

According to a statement from the Italian municipality, about 200 guests participated in the star-studded event. A-Listers attending the conference include the Kardashian-Jenner family, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Orlando Bloom, Jordan’s Rania Queen Rania, Tech Titan Titan Bill Gates, retired NFL stars Tom Brady and Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner among others. President Trump was reportedly invited to attend the wedding but did not attend.

According to Vogue, Sánchez married long-sleeved and silk buttons in a turtleneck dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

“It’s not just a dress, it’s a poem,” the bride wrote in the caption of the Instagram post.

“I feel like a princess,” Sanchez told the magazine. She also wore a Schiaparelli Couture gold tight dress for the couple’s Thursday welcome dinner.

Bezos, who is also the founder of space company Blue Origin and owner of the Washington Post, proposed to Sánchez in 2023 five years later.

Bezos is the third richest man in the world, and Sánchez asked for a gift instead, and guests donated money to local organizations supporting Venetian protection.

“The donation on your behalf is to donate to the UNESCO Office of Venice to safeguard the city’s irreplaceable cultural heritage, restore important lagoon habitats to protect the future of Venice to Corila, and support the research and education of sustainable solutions to the Wenite International University in support of the research and education of sustainable solutions.”

Several local organizations have already opposed the wedding, sparking protests on the day of the celebration. Extinction Insurgency and Greenpeace are one of the groups that held “space-free” protests in Venice.

Protesters announced a banner on Monday, reading: “If you can rent out Venice for your wedding, you can pay more taxes.”
