3F 68 Oxford Street, Collingwood - for pioneering Sun Real Estate

Red is the main feature of Collingwood’s 3F/68 Oxford Street.

The super cool Collinwood apartment sold over $1 million on Saturday smashed expectations by an apartment known as Lamington.

In the two-bedroom home at 3F/68 Oxford Street, a listing of red tile, metal and glass is published, requiring $900,000-$950,000 inquiry range.

Warehouse conversion belongs to the shortlist for the Australian Architects Interiors Interiors Awards, located in a factory complex that formerly belongs to Foy & Gibson, one of Australia’s first department store chains.

The owner of the apartment commissioned architectural practice Rexroth Mannasmann collectively to transform its shell into an eclectic residence with a tall window, 36m high steel ceilings and polished hardwood floors.

The horizontal red line features on many walls, including the open living and dining areas, contributed to the informal name of the apartment, like a jam inside Lamington.

There is also a central pod in the house that houses a laundry room and bathroom.

The Pod has a flip table and folding bed on the walls.

Simon Shrimpton, an internal northern partner at Jellis Craig, said an auction of $900,000 was launched as three bidders competed for a “very cool” apartment.

It costs $950,000 and ends up earning $1.025 million.

“The apartment was sold to a young couple from Fitzroy, and the unhappy people suffered were reduced from the eastern suburbs,” Mr Shrimpton said.

The red line continues to enter the bathroom.

“The couple was excited to buy it, they were the first to ask, the first to check through the gate during the first open inspection,” Mr Shrimpton said.

“They absolutely fell in love with the place and all the design aspects and nuances.”

Mr Shrimpton said that for the interior Melbourne apartments, the well-designed houses have a stylish look and tend to arouse a lot of interest.

He added: “Customized, architecturally designed apartments are rare and far apart.

The apartment is close to cafes, shops and bars, public transport and Peel Street Park in Smith, Gertrude and Brunswick Street.

1 Peel St, Newport-for Herald Sun Real Estate

It dates back to the Victoria Times Peel ST 1, Newport, and was also sold over the weekend.

Also on Saturday, a Victorian-era double flag on 1 Peel ST in Newport sold for $1.21 million.

The three-bedroom home requires some work, including corrections, with $1.05 million in reserves.

Leigh Melbourne and Noah Lautman Wurt, the agency’s real estate partners, are now on the market.

Mr Melbourne said a young couple from the western suburbs bought the property among three bidders.

“Bidding is speed and passion,” Melbourne said.

He noted that houses at the bottom of Peel Street are often sold near shareholders in Williamstown.

“This is the second property I’ve sold here in the 25 years of covering the area,” he said.

Mr Lautman-Wurt said the auction started with a $1 million bid, buyer advocates and family members in the family.
