The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said the Los Angeles area recently protested against immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), with more than 100 people arrested Monday night.
This, along with “multiple local law enforcement partners responded to protests and crime in the downtown area,” the department said in a press release Tuesday. LAPD said 96 people were arrested for “not spreading”, one was arrested for “attacking with deadly weapons”, one was arrested for “resistance arrest” and another was arrested for “vacancies” that night.
“Two LAPD officials were injured and taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and released,” LAPD said in a press release, later adding that 14 people were arrested for “robbery.”
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) recently claimed that President Trump deployed troops to Los Angeles amid ongoing protests against Trump’s immigration attacks, a warning to other states.
“Pod Save America” host Tommy Vietor asked the Golden State Governor what he was about to people in all other U.S. states, who believed: “Well, it’s just Trump’s following crazy California, all liberals like it, we’ll be fine.”
“Preview what’s coming,” Newsom said Monday on “Pod Save America.” “I mean you, I’m sure you’ve been saying it all the time. That’s what he did to create the conditions that led to the January 6 uprising.”
Trump and Newsom have been in turmoil in Los Angeles in recent days. On Monday, Trump said he would support the arrest of the Governor of Golden State, and Newsom responded to X.
Newsom said on X: “The President of the United States is just calling for the arrest of a current governor. This is a day I hope I will never see in the United States.” Newsom said on X.
