Vice President Vance praised his boss, President Trump, in view of his public quarrel with tech billionaire Elon Musk, who believes the commander-in-chief’s “short temper” is “ridiculous”.
“Company media tells lies about President Trump. Most obviously, his impulsiveness or temper. Anyone who has seen him function under pressure knows it’s ridiculous.”
“This is the biggest disconnect between false media perception and reality,” the vice president added.
Musk and Trump began their comments on Thursday, starting with Trump’s remarks, engaged in a fiery back and forth with his comments, which showed Musk’s criticism of “big and beautiful Bill” was driven by his business interests.
Musk said the massive tax and spending bill would surge in Treasury bonds, undermining his efforts to curb government spending. After Trump commented, he wrote on X that Trump won the election just because of him and accused the president of being “unreasonable.”
Musk then raised the idea of creating a third party that supported Trump’s call and accused the president of being appointed in the archives of convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein.
In turn, the president threatens to cancel a multibillion-dollar federal contract for entrepreneurial companies. Musk said he would retire SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft, but later appeared to reverse the route.
Musk said he is willing to achieve peace with Trump later on Thursday. Pershing Square CEO Bill Ackman said former allies should build “peace” and that the country would be better about it, Musk replied on X: “You’re right.”
Vance said on X late Thursday that Trump “has done more in my life than anyone else to win the trust of the movement he leads. I’m honored to be by his side.”
On Friday, Trump said in a brief interview with CNN that he “didn’t even consider Elon.”

Trump also told CNN that he would not talk to Musk.
A senior White House official told Hill’s sister network news Friday morning that the president is considering giving away or selling the red Tesla he bought earlier this year. As of Friday morning, the car was still parked in the White House.
