Today, Breez launched Misty Breez, the latest app they built using the Breez SDK. The Breez SDK was initially developed to simplify the process of integrating Lightning Network support into different consumer applications. Dozens of existing projects and companies are currently built on top of lightning using the SDK.

The SDK supports two lightning integration methods. Native, the agency allows application developers to integrate Lightning wallets or features with the Green Light service provided by BlockStream, which allows wallet providers to host a cloud-based Lightning node for users while only keeping private keys in user control and no nodes are nodnodnods, which allows liquid support to seamlessly integrate with the Lightning Network. Both models supported in the SDK provide full support for the available range of functionality for Lightning Networks and liquids without the need to build support from scratch.

Misty Breez is built on a rhythmless SDK tool. This means that the user’s coins are customized on the liquid side chain, giving the user full control of their funds while also requiring the trust trade-off involved in using the liquid network (i.e., most federal signers will remain honest and trustworthy).

The wallet supports Bolt 11 and Bolt 12 invoices, LNURL-PAY, Lightning Address, Chain BTC Address, and even DNS to use DNS to get payment details for other user wallets. It also supports offline payments based on mobile notifications in the mobile operating system.

The goal of the Breez SDK is to provide developers with tools to build a seamless and specific user experience with as little effort as possible. In this vein, Misty Breez aims to set the benchmark for a simplified user experience that other developers can use as a reference for lightning integration into their own applications, even building on top of Misty Breez itself. Feel free to simply integrate the functionality that seeks to build into Misty Breez itself and rebrand into what you want (100% OpenSource) if you want.

Documentation of the Breez SDK Nodeless configuration used by Misty Breez is available here. Here is a GitHub implemented by Misty Breez. Finally, for users who want to play with the app, it can be available for Android here as well as iOS here.
