The grand historic luxury home Carmel is for sale alongside the Rubinstein Group, which has incredible sales in eight weeks.

TRG founder Gavin Rubinstein didn’t want to discuss the owner of the big family estate on the north-facing northern land at 24 Albert St, although the record shows it is under the name of Deborah Hopper, the wife of Paul Paul Hopper, a well-known biotech entrepreneur.

Carmel appeared on Realestate.com.au today, last traded for $23 million in December 2021.

It is understood that Rubinstein has been showing buyers an amazing out-of-real estate market, and he has offered a $30 million offer, but the price is $35 million.

This is a rare difference in the historic Mediterranean style.


The impressive listing comes amid a surge in trophy home sales in recent weeks, including about $50 million in exchanges in a few days, while a deal of about $43 million was reached last Saturday.

Rubenstein said his company had $389,306,388 sales from early February to the end of March – TRG’s biggest eight weeks have experienced its biggest sales since he founded the company five years ago – suggesting that now is a good time to sell a Prestige home in eastern Sydney.

“Although the market has been at the hub since ‘Covid Boom’, it’s still the greatest time in the history of the real estate market for selling real estate in the eastern suburbs,” Rubinstein said.

“Seeing the results of this group and the basis for how I personally made personal transactions on my personal in February and March.

Its newest resident, Paul Hopper, is known for his biotech company Imugene, chimeric therapy and viral therapy.

Viralytics was acquired by Merck for $500 million in 2018, and Hopper’s latest adventure is Radiopharm Theranostics.


The home was traded for $23 million in 2021.


Its other owners include media guys Rupert “The Rag” Henderson and Ezra Norton, and Rupert Murdoch then snapped it up for $200,000 in 1968.

Two years later, it sold to the Bishop family for $225,000, and in the late 1980s it was owned by Warren Kitson, Warren Kitson

Kate and Dominic Roche, sons of Nutrimetics founder Bill and Imelda Roche, sold it to investment banker Scott Malcolm in 2001 for $6.775 million.

He sold it to medical entrepreneur Dr. Charalambos Revelas for $15.75 million in 2017.
